When is it not bragging but sharing? Over the past 38 years as a Travel Advisor, I have found myself asking this question. When I am with travel advisors, we love discussing all our travels, we share experiences with vast excitement! We discuss the destination, the cultures, the food and especially the people we meet during our travels. We bring this knowledge to our valuable clients as our slogan says, “we know what we sell because we have been there.”
But when we try to talk about our travels to our friends this feels like bragging, why? We love our job and all our experience and knowledge is free to our clients, we share what we know to make our clients’ trip perfect. We do not hide the bad, but we advise what could happen during travel and we are there to help. So, when is it bragging or sharing?
2024 has been a remarkably busy and successful travel year. In March I took a cruise on the Princess Caribbean ship. The ship was wonderful, but I was extremely disappointed with the ports, I will advise my clients if ports are important as this may not be the cruise for them. See Linda’s Princess Blog Post here.
April was our Annual Mast Conference. This year it was held in Louisville, KY. It was a wonderful destination with 300 of our colleague’s sharing education, seminars, meals, and entertainment. An amazing learning experience for a long working weekend. View the Louisville blog post- 2024 Louisville MAST Conference
May was my family trip to Europe for 10 nights. Four of us started our trip in Barcelona, 7-night cruise on the wonderful Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, we experienced wonderful ports in Spain, France, and Italy. View the blog post here
June has been a quiet summer month where our advisors work on updating travel Certificates, webinars, Mast Workshops, and more education!
July will be a working trip for Rose, Karen, and Linda to Jamaica to visit three Sandals and Beaches properties on the west side of the island. All 3 advisors are Certified Sandals Specialists, which requires them to visit the new, and newly updated properties firsthand to better serve our clients and their vacation needs!
August will be a busy month for Starship! Starting with a 2-night trip to downtown Chicago with Park West Galleries, the primary art company on most cruise lines. While on our many cruises we have purchased artwork from Park West Galleries. We will get to spend time with some of the artists we have artwork from, in our local environment! We did this a few years ago and it was so informative and fun!
Later in the month, Karen and Linda are traveling with Mast advisors and our Sandals representative to visit even more Sandals properties. This time we are viewing Sandals Dunn’s River with all her magnificent changes, Sandals Mobay, and any other properties we can fit in. We choose to stay an extra night just to find time to relax and enjoy all the property has to offer. This will be more special as it is Linda and Karens Birthday on Aug 17th!
September, Linda is on her way to Alaska with Norwegian Cruises aboard the Bliss departing from Seattle. She is not fond of the Seattle round trip itinerary, and prefers Anchorage to Vancouver one way travel, but this was available for their time, and either way it will be a lot of fun! Alaska is one of Lindas favorite destinations, her travel companion has never been to Alaska, so she gets to experience his view of this wonderful “last Frontier.” The ports are beautiful, we love the nature and beauty of this state!
October is our Mast All Star Award trip to visit the brand-new property, Secrets Tide, in Punta Cana. This is trip earned by our agency for exceptional sales with our preferred travel suppliers, only 25 agencies earn this trip annually.
November Karen and Linda will be attending the Diamond Elite Award Trip with ALG Vacations. We are the top of our field and have earned this award year over year. Our advisors will be visiting another brand-new property, Secrets Costa Majerus, about 35 minutes north of Cancun.
December is a quick girls get away to New York for the weekend to see some plays, the holidays lights, Rockefeller Center, the 911 Memorial among other stops, just fun and tasty food.
January is our huge trip to Asia. This has been a work in progress for over a year, 7 of us will take the extremely long flight to Bali 2 days before we sail, and visit with some family before we board the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship for 12 nights visiting Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand including Phuket and Singapore where we will stay for an additional 2 nights. This is the trip of a lifetime for most travelers!
This much travel may seem like bragging, but it is work for us on behalf of our loyal clients. Sometimes we work long hours walking around large resort complexes to see everything that is offered to our clients. Some of our trips are short 3 or 4 nights, but during that time we get to experience the property 1st hand.
I am sharing all our travels for the rest of this year and beyond, I hope you will follow our travels then book your next adventure with Starship Travel.
