Saint Lucia is one of my favorite Caribbean island, and well known for it’s Sandals Resorts- there are 3 on the island. I’ve been to all of them, and they are very unique. A guest can stay at one and play at all three which are included in the package. There are a multitude of resorts for all ages and families depending upon the desires of the various travelers. It is a smaller island with a lot of personality, culture and activities. The people are very warm and friendly.
Castries is the capital city and Rodney Bay is known for it’s “party scene”. Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique.
The bustling port city of Castries is St. Lucia’s capital. Shoppers flock to the city’s dozens of stores and to Castries Market for fruits, vegetables and handicrafts. Sightseers admire murals painted by a local artists inside Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and relax in Derek Walcott Square, named for the St. Lucian Nobel-prize-winning poet.
