Linda’s Princess Cruise 2024

March 2-9, 2024, Caribbean Princess Cruise

Recently I traveled on a Princess Cruise to the Caribbean, we had purchased this at a Make-A-Wish Golf outing fundraiser.  I was so looking forward to a wonderful week floating on a beautiful ship to four destinations!

The Caribbean Princess is a smaller ship compared to some of the massive ships sailing now, but still a very nice size.  The Balcony cabin was spacious with a huge balcony, which we enjoyed everyday for morning coffee or afternoon relaxation.  The dining was good, but the specialty restaurants were worth the additional money, we enjoyed the Grill twice as the food and service were spectacular.

The shows on the ship were wonderful!  The ship had music, comedy shows and games going constantly, never a loss for someplace to go for entertainment.

I was very disappointed in the PORTS, fortunately I had been to all these before, so I wasn’t that disappointed.  All the ports were geared towards water sports, this was odd as Princess tends to bring older people.  This ship did have quite an array of ages, very few children but many teens and young adults.

Princess Cay, the private island, was beautiful with activities and water sports.  As we are not beach people we went back to the ship and enjoyed what was being offered.

Grand Turks, again only water sports.  The port was miles away from anything other than the shopping mall at the pier!  Again, back to the ship.

Amber Cove, Puerto Plata Dominican Republic was worth the stop.  We took a MEGATRUCK for a 4 ½ hour island tour which included a stop at a local school, sightseeing around the countryside and lunch at a coffee farm, this was most enjoyable, and the food was good.

San Juan was a total disappointment as the ship stopped miles away from the Condado area where I wanted to go.  The port again was just for shopping, not my bag!  Back to the ship!

To say, I love cruising is an understatement!  I love unpacking once and visiting other places.  The ship was relaxing and exactly what I needed this time.

In May I am off on a Royal Caribbean Cruise in Europe, I already know this will not be relaxing as we have already planned all our tours in each city in each country.  RCCL Oasis, here I come!
