Destin

July 11st Our trip to Destin begins.

Our original plans were to go to Southern California to Disney, Seaworld and Lego land but Covid 19 really took this trip away from us.  Instead of giving up or giving into Covid we changed our plans to just go to a resort in Florida where we could rent a 3-bedroom condo with a great pool and keep our social distance to just our family.

Today my family, 6 adults and 2 kids departed for this well needed vacation to get away from the 4 months of Covid 19 and our quarantine!  Our flight on Southwest was uneventful traveling with adults and 2 small kids.  We were able to have social distancing in the airports and on the plane.   After picking up the cars we found a really good restaurant in Pensacola for a well-earned Seafood Dinner before we took the journey to our resort which is about an hour away in Destin, Florida.  The Grand San Destin is a Beach and Golf community which is large and incredibly beautiful.  The golf course is on the PGA circuit!

Our day started with a family trip to the grocery store to shop for the week!  Afterwards we spent about 4 hours relaxing and enjoying the sun and fresh air at the pool.   After a great shower and a snack we headed out to the Village of Baytowne Wharf where there is a myriad of very quaint shops, restaurants, a beautiful Carousel and various fun including an Arcade, small Zip line and mini golf.  We had a wonderful dinner a Rum Runner.  Repeat next day, fun, sun, walk to the Wharf for another great dinner.

Repeat next day but tonight we are ordering in pizza for movie night.   Oh wow, FIREWORKS right out our window, we could see them right from our balcony.  We might be missing Disney but we got fireworks.

Disney world

Disney World is one of the most magical, and highly visited, places in the world. Starship Travel has visited Disney many many  times, and we have a blast each time we go! We never run out of magical things to do.

Key west

Our trip to Key West was apart of a Viking Cruise to Florida and Cuba. We had an amazing trip aboard the ship, and even better time exploring the gorgeous town of Key West. One of the highlights was seeing the most southern part of the US, which is also the 90 miles to Cuba landmark.
